It would work half the time, and sometimes just quit on me. I figured out that it was a fuel delivery problem. So, I replaced the fuel filter. Car worked for about a week with no problem, then started dying again. So I replaced the fuel pump relay, car worked again for a week or so, and started dying again. So, I pulled out the fuel pump, wired it to the battery, discovered it was fine, so I put it back in the car and just ran a positive lead from the battery to the fuel pump. I installed a switch so that when I wanted to drive, I just flipped a switch to begin fuel flow. That has to be the dumbest thing I've done to my car. The problem turned out to be... Well, about 6 months prior to the problem, I had a CD changer installed. I worked at Circuit City at the time, so I was there when they searched for possible mounting locations. We decided to put it behind the driver's seat, cutting a hole through the trim to allow the CD changer to protrude through. Turns out that there's some kind of fuel control module back there that required a chassis ground. The installer didn't know this and just tucked the module into a hollow area directly behind the B-pillar. The module would make a ground sometimes, and not make a ground other times, hence my fuel delivery problem.
All those who quote: "There's no replacement for displacement," are full of shit. They've never driven a Twin Turbo Z. Wow. The more 2+2s I see the better they look. - SooperZ95 09/22/03 21:53:36 (4) *smack* - cha5e 09/22/03 22:18:25 (1) |
